It’s Official: Southampton incredible star signs new long-term contract
|Southampton youngster Dibling signs new long-term contract
Tyler Dibling, a young player for the Saints, got a new contract that will keep
him with the team until 2026, saying, “I’ve just to keep going.”
The offensive midfielder, who is still only 17 years old, has enjoyed his season as an under-21s regular and has also
earned a few opportunities with the starting squad.
Dibling made his debut in the EFL as a substitute during the first round trip to
Gillingham. He was also included in the matchday squad and received frequent senior training.
In 11 games at the under-21 level, he has five goals and three assists, making it a successful start to his career.
Speaking following the signing of his contract, Dibling stated: “I’ve just got to
keep going because it feels good to know that I’m trusted and that they want to push me.”
“Keep on doing what I’m doing with the under-21s and when I do get my chance with the first team I’ve just got to take it.”
When Jayden (Meghoma), Sam (Amo-Ameyaw), and I are pushed up to play
with the first team more frequently, it’s been good.
It’s helped because they’ll make you a better player because they’re better
players. My future is now assured, so all I have to do is buckle up and keep moving forward.”
Andy Goldie, the academy director, went on to clarify the club’s rationale for
choosing to guarantee Dibling’s future for the ensuing three years.
“We’re thrilled to reward Tyler with a new contract. He has continued to
embrace the challenges and opportunities we’ve provided him this season,” the speaker stated.
“He is really motivated and determined to build on those accomplishments, even
though he has previously played for our first team and represented his nation in the U17 World Cup this season.
“We now look forward to supporting him in maximising his full potential to earn greater success in the future.”
