Adidas has announced a new partnership with Newcastle United,
signing Sven Botman as the latest athlete to join their roster of talent.
The Dutch centre-back signed a contract with the German sportswear giant,
accompanied by his agent Nikkie Bruinenberg, at the company’s German headquarters. Botman joins the ranks of
other Adidas athletes such as Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, David Beckham, and Zinedine Zidane.
In recent weeks, the corporation has had plenty of practice working with Newcastle stars, as Anthony Gordon,
Lewis Miley, Alexander Isak, and Joelinton starred in an advertisement for the new Adidas ‘Predator 24′. Miley,
Gordon, and Sean Longstaff all wore the new shoes in Saturday’s 4–4 draw with Luton Town at St James’ Park.
Adidas will become Newcastle’s official kit manufacturer beginning with the
2024/25 season, and fans are eager to see what the company has in store for the Magpies’ home, away, training, and retro gear.
Last week, the sportswear giant announced a new partnership with Newcastle’s shirt sponsor Sela, focusing
on “strategic collaborations and joint developments.” Adidas’ General Manager, Bilal Fares, stated, “This
partnership demonstrates Sela and adidas’ shared values and vision. Together, we hope to set new
collaboration standards and deliver products and experiences that reflect the best of both brands
There has been widespread speculation that Newcastle will join Bayern Munich,
Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Flamengo as an
Adidas ‘elite’ team. This means that the club will receive authentic home and
away kits each season, as well as new designs, rather than templates shared by multiple teams.
