Collingwood’s Nathan Kreuger, who has faced persistent injury setbacks, is set for another stint on the sidelines this season following confirmation from scans
revealing a moderate-grade hamstring strain. The 24-year-old sustained the injury during a VFL scratch match against Richmond at Punt Road on
Tuesday and was promptly sent for scans. This latest setback adds to Kreuger’s injury woes, having undergone shoulder surgery at the start of the 2023 season due to an injury suffered in the
previous year’s campaign. Since joining Collingwood from Geelong at the end of the 2021 season, Kreuger has been limited to just seven senior games. It appears unlikely that he will add to this
tally in the early stages of the upcoming season, with reports suggesting he could miss up to six weeks. Despite making his AFL debut for Geelong in 2021, Kreuger has only managed nine appearances due
to his recurring injuries. Collingwood, after completing their pre-season fixtures, is gearing up to face GWS in the league’s inaugural Opening Round.
