The instant violent altercations at Villa Park broke out is captured

Dramatic footage shows the moment violent clashes erupted at Villa Park

Aston Villa’s Europa Conference League game with Legia Warsaw was marred by

violent clashes outside the stadium between

visiting supporters and Police

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa team was

hoping to extend their winning streak in the competition, so it was supposed to be

another fantastic night of European football at Villa Park. However,

unpleasant incidents outside the stadium overshadowed the Villa victory.

The altercation between police and visiting supporters is shown in the video

above. Prior to the visiting fans’

scheduled entry into the stadium for

Thursday’s group match, there was a violent altercation that resulted in

missiles being hurled at police, leading to

the arrest of around thirty persons.

According to a statement released by

Villa, “Aston Villa Football Club can confirm that, at the advice of West

Midlands Police, no away fans were permitted into Villa Park for this

evening’s UEFA Europa Conference League fixture with Legia Warsaw

following large-scale disorder outside the

stadium caused by visiting supporters.”

The safety authorities in the UK, along

with UEFA and Aston Villa, announced on November 2 that due to the large-

scale disturbances created by Legia fans against AZ Alkmaar last month, the

allocation of tickets for away fans for this

match will be lowered to 1,002.

“During that disturbance, several Dutch police officers suffered injuries.

Consequently, Legia fans were prohibited

by UEFA from traveling to Mostar for

their match against HŠK Zrinjski.

“Despite Legia Warsaw’s repeated pleas for assistance with their traveling

followers—particularly in the previous two days—the visiting team has not

provided any support on the critical

safety issue involving away fans at Villa

Park. The club has expressed concerns to Legia on several occasions, including this

morning, about ticketless away supporters trying to enter Villa Park,

along with UEFA and all pertinent authorities.

“Legia supporters committed deliberate and systematic aggressive conduct

against West Midlands Police officers about an hour before kickoff. As a result,

West Midlands Police decided to bar all

Legia supporters from the stadium.

“Aston Villa would like to thank West

Midlands Police for their professionalism in handling the behavior of those visiting

supporters and strongly condemn it.” extremely challenging conditions
