Celtic vs. Hibs injury report: three doubts and six out

Celtic v Hibs injury news as 6 out and 3 doubts

Hibs are prepared to take on the Hoops with three successive wins under their belt

Hibs are getting ready to play Celtic at Celtic Park in one of their hardest games of the year in just two days. The team led by Nick Montgomery will advance to Glasgow after winning three straight games. The Hibees defeated Aberdeen 2-0 thanks to goals from Dylan Vente and Will Fish, and a stellar performance from David Marshall in goal.

In addition to keeping a clean sheet, the 38-year-old also prevented a penalty attempt by Bojan Miovski in the second

half, which helped to calm nerves as Easter Road approached the last few

minutes of play. Montgomery will be expecting Marshall to deliver a similar

performance when his team plays the Hoops this Wednesday in Parkhead.

2. Adam Le Fondre – Hibs

Doubt – Le Fondre remains absent after suffering a hamstring issue before the international break.

3. Marco Tilio – Celtic

Doubt – the Australian is deemed ‘fit’ but appears to be a long way away from making an impact after only featuring on the bench vs Motherwell due to ‘injuries to others’.

4. Harry McKirdy – Hibs

OUT – McKirdy is hoping for a Spring 2024 return following significant heart surgery.

5. Chris Cadden – Hibs

OUT – Following surgery on his achilles, Cadden is building up his match fitness and looks to a 2024 return.

6. Jake Doyle-Hayes – Hibs

OUT – Doyle-Hayes is continuing recovery after ankle surgery and is nearing a return date.

7. Daizen Maeda – Celtic

OUT – Maeda is back on the training field after damaging his knee in a challenge that earned him a red card.

8. Reo Hatate – Celtic

OUT – Hatate is ‘progressing well’ but following a hamstring issue, but will be unlikely to return much before the Asia Cup next year.

9. Liel Abada – Celtic

OUT – the Israeli winger has been out since mid-September following a thigh injury but has returned to grass training sessions.

10. Jair Tavares – Hibs

Doubt – Tavares was taken off shortly after injuring his shoulder. It’s highly likely his substitution was merely precautionary ahead of a busy week of fixtures.
