Huge clubs are very interested in Brighton’s £59 million talented prospect, and Brighton is finding it difficult to hold on to him.

Brighton’s £59m “beautiful talent” of interest to huge club next summer

The Seagulls are facing a battle to hold onto one of their most prized assets at the end of the season.

One of Brighton & Hove Albion’s first-team players may be leaving the team in the summer, according to a recent

report, as he is being pursued by a prominent club.

Brighton’s recent departures

The Seagulls approved the loan or permanent departure of 21 players during the previous window; Moises

Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, and Robert Sanchez were among the biggest names

to depart permanently, but more players may soon follow in their footsteps.

Danny Welbeck, James Milner, and Adam Lallana are all under contract with Roberto De Zerbi, and if they aren’t given the opportunity to extend, they will probably be heading out the door at the end of the current campaign (Brighton contracts).

Kaoru Mitoma signed a new contract at The Amex recently as a reward for his efforts. The left-winger originally joined the team in 2021 and has since made 60 appearances overall (Transfermarkt – Mitoma statistics).

Back in October, Japan’s international signed an improved contract which means he is set to stay at the club until at

least 2027, as per the above outlet, but despite him committing his long-term

future just two months ago, that hasn’t stopped the 26-year-old from emerging

as a target for an admirer in the Premier League.

Man City interested in Kaoru Mitoma

According to Spanish reports (via The Hard Tackle), Mitoma is of interest to Man City ahead of 2024. The Sky Blues

are keen to strike a deal for the forward upon the conclusion of the campaign,

with Pep Guardiola being a huge admirer of his target.

It will be interesting to see whether Brighton is able to complete the sale of their prized asset, as they have set a price tag of €70-80m (£59-68m).

Brighton need to keep “beautiful talent” in Mitoma

In the Premier League this season, Mitoma has racked up seven contributions (four assists and three goals) in 13 appearances, so considering his excellent current form alongside the positive influence he has on the side, Brighton need to do everything that they possibly can to retain his services.

The Puma-sponsored Kawasaki native has more shots than any other teammate this season (23 total; see FBRef – Brighton statistics), demonstrating how unique he is in the last third when compared to his teammates.

It’s a no-brainer to keep De Zerbi in the building past next summer given his “beautiful talent,” as journalist Josh

Bunting praised him. He is a versatile operator who has been used in five

different positions over the grass since the beginning of his career, including

three roles across the frontline and two in the midfield.
