Oleksandr Zinchenko’s remarks made by Mikel Arteta speak volumes, as another Arsenal player chastised
Defying questions from the media regarding Oleksandr Zinchenko’s
mistake in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Wolves, Mikel Arteta stated that he ‘loves
the Ukrainian how he is’. The Spaniard has demonstrated once more that, when
discussing team members in public, he doesn’t disparage them.
However, both during and after the game, Arteta isn’t afraid to voice his
opinions and is very vocal when his players misbehave. One excellent
instance of this occurred on Saturday when Arteta chastised Leandro Trossard for some careless play during the team’s trip to Molineux Stadium.
The winger’s manager became enraged when he attempted a skill and lost
possession. Demanding that the Belgian follow back to retrieve the ball, Arteta ran to the touchline. However, he was all
smiles as he gave the former Brighton player an embrace after the game.
During his tenure in charge, Arteta has demonstrated that he is a superb man manager. Arteta has a talent for bringing out the best in his players, whether it’s putting an arm around Kai Havertz’s shoulder or giving him a dressing room reprimand following a subpar performance against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, as seen in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing.
Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Arteta stood up for Zinchenko in front of the media when he came under fire for letting the ball slip through his fingers as Wolves pushed for a goal back. When it comes to Zinchenko, Arteta said, “You have to love him how he is.”
“He has advantages and disadvantages, but Alex has far more advantages. We must take lessons from this as it happened and can happen to any player. It’s strictly forbidden to play in those areas, especially in light of some events from the previous phase. But don’t worry, things will get better.”
