Atlanta Falcons injury update: falcons duo suffers from injury that might keep them out for a period of time.

Atlanta Falcons Injury Update: Kaleb McGary & Nate Landman Avoid Long-Term Absences

Atlanta Falcons coach Arthur Smith provided an injury update on several
players who prematurely left Sunday’s game against the New York Jets,
including right tackle Kaleb McGary and linebacker Nate Landman.
The New York Jets were defeated 13–8 on the road by the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, but not without consequences.
Due to injuries sustained earlier in the season, Atlanta, which already believes
that defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) and linebacker Troy Andersen (pectoral)
are out for the season, lost three more starters on Sunday.
Falcons linebacker Nate Landman injured his left knee during the fourth
quarter. He was carried to the sidelines while lying on his back for several
minutes, appearing to be in significant pain. Landman hobbled into the medical
tent without bearing any weight on his leg.
Falcons coach Arthur Smith stated after the game on Sunday that Landman and starting right tackle Kaleb McGary, who left in the first half due to a knee injury, needed to see medical images.
McGary “could miss some time” due to an MCL sprain, according to an ESPN
report on Monday, but it is not anticipated to be a permanent injury.
During his customary Monday press conference, Smith assured reporters that
Landman and McGary would not be missing any extended action.
Smith continued by saying he’s not sure if they’ll play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
on Sunday but that he’ll find out later this week, especially when practice starts on Wednesday.

In other news, on the final play of Atlanta’s

opening defensive series, Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell was hit

helmet-to-helmet with Jets running back Breece Hall, rendering him ineligible to
play the rest of the game due to a concussion.
With 65 defensive snaps in Terrell’s place, rookie cornerback Clark Phillips
III saw his highest workload to date. For Phillips, it was only his second time playing defense.
This week, Terrell will go through the concussion protocol, which could affect his status.
Although he’s unsure of Jeff Okudah’s status for Sunday, Smith added on Sunday that fellow starting cornerback
Jeff Okudah should be “okay” following an undisclosed injury late in the game.
Smith repeated these remarks on Monday.
Against the Jets, the Falcons were without backup cornerback Mike Hughes (hand) and starting receiver Mack
Hollins (ankle). Center Drew Dalman and defensive tackle David Onyemata both
sustained injuries during the game, according to Smith.
All things considered, Atlanta’s roster is far from healthy; however, none of the
injuries sustained on Sunday are anticipated to have a lasting effect on the remainder of the season.
