Center Frank Ragnow of the Detroit Lions is doubtful to play again after sustaining knee injury against the New Orleans Saints.

Center Frank Ragnow suffered a lower-body injury midway through the second

quarter of the Detroit Lions’ game against the New Orleans Saints after being rolled up and leg-whipped by a

teammate. With extreme caution, Ragnow left the field and was carried to the changing area.

Shortly after, the team declared that his knee injury made it unlikely for him to return.

To replace Ragnow, the Lions moved right guard Graham Glasgow to center, and put rookie Colby Sorsdal in at right

guard. Glasgow has regularly played center all season, as Ragnow has battled a myriad of injuries. Sorsdal has moved

all over the Lions offensive line, but at times it appeared Detroit was grooming him to be their future right guard.

Detroit got off to a quick 21-0 lead seven minutes into the game, but the offense has since been slowed down, and the

Saints were able to find the end zone early in the second quarter to draw it to a two-score game.

In the end, the Lions escaped the win by the skin of their teeth, but they have moved to 9-3 on the season. We’ll see

shortly if Ragnow will get to be a part of those final five games of the regular season as Detroit makes their playoff push.

The Lions placed rookie Colby Sorsdal at right guard and moved right guard Graham Glasgow to center to replace Ragnow. Ragnow has struggled with

numerous injuries, so Glasgow has filled in at center field most of the season.

Although Sorsdal has played every position on the Lions offensive line, it

seemed at times that Detroit was developing him into their right guard of the future.

Seven minutes into the game, Detroit jumped out to an early 21-0 lead. However, the offense has since slowed

down, and the Saints were able to find the end zone early in the second quarter to tie the game at two points.

Although the Lions narrowly avoided defeat in the end, they now stand 9-3 on the
