Breaking news:Emery plans to upgrade one of his initial signings for Aston Villa, who will now be let go.

Emery eyes upgrade on one of his first Aston Villa signings, who’ll now be shown door

According to information obtained by TEAMtalk, Aston Villa is prepared to let go of striker Jhon Duran at the end of the

January transfer window if they can find a suitable replacement.

Due to their strong performance thus far this season, Villa is looking to bolster

Unai Emery’s squad by adding two attacking reinforcements during the upcoming transfer window.

In fact, the Villans have won four of their last five games to sit fourth in the

Premier League, just four points behind Arsenal in first place. They also lead their

Europa Conference League group by three points.

If Villa is able to bring in a new forward to replace the Colombian international, Emery is willing to let Duran go.

From his transfer from Major League Soccer team Chicago Fire to the club in

January of last year, the striker has found it difficult to win over Emery.

With Ollie Watkins leading the line for Emery’s team at Villa Park, the 19-year-old has found himself filling in for the England international.

In his eight Premier League appearances this season, the forward Duran has only played 92 minutes of action and has not started a single match.

Previous reports have indicated that he had “difficulties” with his supervisor during the season.

The majority of the South American’s appearances this season have come in

the Europa Conference League, where he has managed to score four goals in 15 games across all competitions.

Emery does not want to run out of options as Villa continues to push for a

top-four finish this season, so he will only allow Duran to leave if

reinforcements are added to the team next month.
