If manager Roberto De Zerbi decides to leave the team in the future due to
significant interest from Manchester United, Brighton won’t stand in his way, sources have told Football Insider.
Brighton won’t get in the way of manager Roberto De Zerbi leaving the team in the
future if Manchester United shows a lot of interest, sources have told Football Insider.
The Seagulls are prepared to demand top-bracket compensation for their
highly regarded manager, just as they have in the past for a number of their best players.
Football Insider has learned from a reliable source that the south coast team
would not prevent De Zerbi from departing if he thought it was time for him to move on.
Despite his connections across Europe, it is thought that the Italian will not be able
to leave Brighton right away. As a result, he is expected to sign a new contract that will guarantee his future there.
The Amex Stadium has a contract with De Zerbi that expires in June 2026.
Last month on November 3, sources told Football Insider that Man United had
made the former Sassuolo manager a top target.
It’s thought that 44-year-old manager Erik ten Hag will take over as Red Devils
manager after new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is appointed.
Along with teams from his home country of Italy, he has also been connected to Real Madrid and Manchester City.
De Zerbi took over at Brighton in September 2022 and guided the Seagulls
to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season, securing them
European football for the first time in their history.
The Seagulls have already confirmed their passage to the knockout rounds of
the Europa League this term despite being drawn with AEK Athens, Marseille and Ajax.
