Brighton pair Roberto de zerbi and Bloom each bags an award at the golden boy award.

Brighton duo De Zerbi and Bloom celebrated at Golden Boy awards

At the 2023 Golden Boy Awards in Turin, chairman Tony Bloom and coach Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton were recognized with awards.

The Pozzo award for the best Italian coach in 2023 went to De Zerbi. He continues the winning tradition of previous champions Antonio Conte (2021) and Carlo Ancelotti (2022).

Under his direction, Brighton set a club record by finishing sixth in the Premier League at the end of the 2022–2023 season. Before taking Graham Potter’s place in September 2022, he was regarded as something of an unknown in English football.

Meanwhile, Bloom, the chairman and majority owner of Brighton, was selected

for the Best President award in recognition of his leadership in guiding

the team to its first-ever season in European competitions.

Brighton’s money-ball strategy in the transfer market and their data-driven

approach to analysis were cited by Tuttosport, the organization that created

the Golden Boy awards, as justifications for his nomination.

Additionally, earlier this week in London, the outlet dispatched representatives to

present the awards to the Brighton couple in person.
