Celtics starter claims he was “horrible” during the second half of the Pacers’ defeat.

The Pacers were considerably slower in the first half against the Celtics, but by

the time the third quarter rolled around on Monday, things had changed. The 12 minutes following halftime have been a

grind for one of the best teams in the NBA, so that has been a problem area for the C’s the entire season.

Tyrese Haliburton, who scored 12 points and dished out five assists in the third quarter alone, was partially responsible

for that. However, the Celtics mishandled the ball on Monday, turning it over eighteen times. Derrick White, who

committed five turnovers in the Celtics’ 122-112 loss to the Pacers, accepted some of the blame for those errors.

In my opinion, I played a terrible second half,” White stated, as reported by NBC

Sports Boston. They’re getting plenty of opportunities to score easily. I must

therefore improve in that area. I definitely turned it over too many times. All I have to do Is imprimprove

While the Celtics improbably match to the knockout stages of the in-season

tournament, their run was short-lived. They will now either face the loser of

Knicks vs. Bucks on Tuesday, with the game slated for Friday at TD Garden in

what will simply be a regular-season game.

The Celtics controlled the pace for most of the first half, allowing just 48 points as Haliburton and the Pacers were kept in

check. That’s a tall task considering Indiana brought in its league-best offense into Monday’s game.

But the Pacers were able to generate points off the Celtics’ turnovers as they poured in 74 points in the second half.

And it was that problematic third quarter again as the Celtics were outscored 37-23 in that frame. So while

the Celtics still have a 15-5 record on the season, they still have some areas to clean up going forward.

“Obviously, we gotta do something to come out of this locker room better,”

White said. “Play 48 minutes. It starts with us starters, and we gotta be better.”

Although the Celtics unexpectedly advanced to the in-season tournament’s knockout stages, their success was

fleeting. They will now play the loser of Tuesday’s Knicks vs. Bucks game, which is scheduled for Friday at TD Garden and

will be treated like any other regular-season game.

For the majority of the first half, the Celtics set the pace, allowing just 48

points while holding Haliburton and the Pacers in check. Considering that Indiana

entered the game with the best offense in the league, that is a challenging task.

However, as the Pacers scored 74 points in the second half, they were able to take advantage of the Celtics’ mistakes to

score points. The third quarter proved to be troublesome once more, with the Celtics losing 37-23.
