Ohio State Buckeyes Safety Lathan Ransom OUT For Remainder of Regular Season With Injury

The Ohio State Buckeyes will be without one of their top defensive backs, Lathan Ransom, for the remainder of the regular season
Head coach Ryan Day announced that safety Lathan Ransom will miss the rest
of the regular season due to a lower-body injury, which is a major loss for the Ohio State Buckeyes defense.
Ransom appeared to have suffered a lower-body injury when he was taken out of the game early in the fourth
quarter of their victory over Wisconsin earlier this month.
Ransom appeared to sustain the injury during a non-contact play, and he went
straight to the injury tent for additional assessment. The Ohio State medical staff
then wheeled Ransom to the locker room.
During the team’s Saturday game against Michigan State, Ransom was observed riding a scooter while wearing a walking boot.
Day characterized Ransom’s injury as “long term” when questioned about it following the Michigan State game.
“Lathan’s (injury) is more long-term,” Day said. “But I think with (Josh Proctor), we’re gonna get him back here real soon.”
Day did leave open the possibility of Ransom returning for the postseason – perhaps even the Big Ten title game, should the Buckeyes make it to Indianapolis.
Ransom finished fourth on the team in terms of tackles with 31 total (20 solo and 11 assisted), one interception, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, a quarterback hurry, and extra.five tackles for loss prior to the match.
Ransom broke his leg against the Utah Utes in the Rose Bowl in 2022 and had to be carted off the field due to another serious injury.
But Ransom recovered from that injury and was once again a standout player for the Ohio State defense.
