After Brighton’s draw with Burnley, Roberto de Zerbi says the Seagulls are still inconsistent and that he is not a top coach.

Roberto de Zerbi claims Brighton aren’t a top team and he is not a top coach as Seagulls’ inconsistency continues in draw against Burnley

Roberto de Zerbi says a top team and coach would have found a way to beat Burnley after Brighton were frustrated by the visitors and their goalkeeper, James Trafford.

Brighton was forced to settle for a point after a poor combination of wasted opportunities and Trafford saves, leaving them with only Simon Adingra’s late equalizer to show for their dominance.
“I don’t think anyone believes in my players more than me,” stated De Zerbi, “but we are a very good team, we are not a top team yet.”
“Today’s winner is a top team; they would have defeated Fulham and
Sheffield United.” If we won all three games, we would hold the third spot in the standings.
“Why didn’t we win these three games? We deserve to win,” Perhaps it’s because
we’re not yet a world-class team. Perhaps as a result of Brighton’s coach not yet being a top coach.
Following the long-term knee injury that sidekick Luca Koleosho suffered, Wilson Odobert gave Burnley a lead. Koleosho was another “little gem” that manager Vincent Kompany referred to as some of his players.

Adingra finally levelled for Brighton with 13 minutes left. In total they had 29 attempts and 71 per cent possession.

But 10 stops from Trafford, including especially crucial ones in the closing stages from Adingra, Jack Hinshelwood and Kaoru Mitoma, were a big reason why Burnley were able to leave with a point.

“In games like these, without someone having an outstanding performance, you never get results,” Kompany added.
