Breaking news: Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion activated off injured reserve by the New York Giants

BREAKING: New York Giants Activate Pro Bowler And Super Bowl Champion Off Of Injured Reserve

The season for the New York Giants has been decidedly odd.

The Giants fan base was already feeling somewhat let down by a team that had high (ish) expectations after a 10-7 season in 2022, which was followed by a road victory against the Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round. The team had started the season with a disappointing 2-6 record.

Subsequently, after the injury to $40 million quarterback (a statement I found

extremely difficult to type on a keyboard), Daniel Jones, and his

replacement Tyrod Taylor, the team turned to undrafted local quarterback

Tommy DeVito, who is now an Italian-American icon. For some reason, DeVito

has won two straight games as the Giants improve to a still-poor 4-8 record.

Oddly enough, though, there’s still a sense of hope at MetLife Stadium. Though there is no doubt that the New York Giants will make the playoffs, something about the DeVito situation, their current two-game winning streak, and maybe the incredibly low expectations set over the previous ten years have made the season seem not too bad.

And, to bolster that – the Giants will activate a Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, Tyrod Taylor, for IR, per Dan Solomone.

How Will This Affect The New York Giants

Tommy DeVito will continue as the starting pitcher for the remainder of the season, as New York has already declared. However, having a player like Taylor—who, shockingly, has both a Super Bowl victory and a Pro Bowl appearance (in 2015)—will surely help the Giants’ sidelines and serve as a backup in the event that one of the NYG quarterbacks is injured again.

It’s not a huge deal season-wise because the Giants are not very close to making the playoffs and would have to win and

be extremely lucky to even have a chance at the 7 seed. Despite some

excellent play from stars like Kayvon Thibodeaux, the Giants front office is

really not thinking about the next three years at this point.

In this peculiar Monday quasi double-header, they are 5.5 point underdogs against the Green Bay Packers tonight.
