Brighton put first offer ‘on the table’ for signing – Need a little more to get transfer done

Brighton and Hove Albion have made their first offer for Sevilla defender

Juanlu, proposing a deal worth €15m for the full-back.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who claim that amount is currently “on the table” at the Spanish club and includes possible bonuses.

Over the past few weeks, the defender has been linked to the Seagulls, who are reportedly interested in adding him to their roster in order to support Roberto De Zerbi.

The defender has a €25 million release clause in his contract, as all of those

reports have made clear, but Brighton wasn’t willing to pay that amount and

was instead considering something much lower.

Their ideas now seem to be around €15 million, as Estadio reports that they have put in a bid worth that amount, bonuses included.

Director of football Victor Orta at Sevilla is “on the table” with that offer and is considering it. In order to balance the books, Orta needs to bring in about €35 million from sales in the upcoming months.

It’s unclear if that means he will be inclined to accept Brighton’s offer, but Vamos Mi Sevilla thinks he won’t.

They discuss the bid as well, but they assert that because of Juanlu’s €25

million release clause, Sevilla has “the upper hand” in negotiations.

As a result, they would be hesitant to accept €15 million, including bonuses, at this time and instead think that they will be able to obtain more, possibly guaranteeing that any agreement is fixed at €15 million plus “a few million more as a bonus.”

As a result, Brighton has the upper hand because, by all accounts, it will only take

a few more million to complete this deal in the upcoming weeks.
