Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi confirms Ansu Fati injury fears

Roberto De Zerbi, the head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion, has revealed

that Ansu Fati, a loanee from Barcelona, may miss three months due to injury.

With four goals in Premier League and Europa League play since the Seagulls

moved to the AMEX Stadium for the 2023–2024 season, Fati has made an impression.

But when Brighton defeated Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the Premier League last

month, the 21-year-old was forced off injured, and De Zerbi initially thought the worst.

Following an evaluation by the Brighton medical staff that included hamstring

scans, Fati has now been given an update by De Zerbi on the Spanish international.

According to BBC Sport reports, “I think he needs three months to recover from the day of the injury.”

“It’s unfortunate for us, as he was improving his play and comprehending my concepts more clearly.”

If Fati’s recuperation proceeds according to plan, he could rejoin Brighton by the end of February.

For Fati, whose career at Barcelona has been derailed by recurring injuries, another injury setback is a serious blow, and his chances of qualifying for Euro 2024 now appear remote.
