More trains are scheduled in East Anglia before the derby

 

For football fans traveling to the East Anglian derby, more trains are being scheduled.

The match on Saturday marks the first meeting between Norwich and Ipswich

since the Canaries’ victory over Town at Carrow Road in 2019.

Greater Anglia announced that it will operate an extra external train from

Norwich to Ipswich at 09:48 GMT, with a return service scheduled for 15:00.

It kicks off at Portman Road at 12:30, and nearly 30,000 spectators are anticipated.

The commercial director of Greater Anglia, Martin Moran, stated: “We are

operating extra trains because we understand how important this match is to thousands of our customers.

“To save time, passengers are advised to buy tickets online or via the Greater Anglia app before they travel.”

According to Greater Anglia, regular half-hourly trains will continue to operate between Ipswich and Norwich.

The Portman Road game is sold out. 

“large policing operation” involving additional police at the stadium, train

station, and Ipswich town center is being planned, according to Suffolk Police.

In the EFL Championship right now, Ipswich is ranked second, and Norwich is ranked thirteenth.
