Eagles vs. Seahawks: Week 15 staff predictions, odds, and additional information

Eagles vs. Seahawks: Week 15 staff predictions, odds, and additional information

After suffering defeats over the last two weeks and losing their hold on the top

NFC spot, the Eagles are suddenly in dire need of a comeback.

But the Seattle Seahawks, a team fighting for a postseason spot and a team that has

historically proved to be a terrible opponent for the Birds—we’re talking

about a 0-7 run against Seattle dating back to 2011—will be waiting for them on Monday night.

Can the Eagles finally end their over ten-year streak and regain some momentum in the competition for the top seed in the conference?

These are our opinions…

The Seahawks, who feature a dangerous trio of wide receivers in DK Metcalf,

Tyler Lockett, and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba, will test the pass defense of the Eagles, which has struggled miserably in

their last two games against the 49ers and Cowboys. You know, that’s concerning.

However, the Seahawks’ offense has been erratic this season, and they’re banged up. Geno Smith did not play

against the Niners Week 14, and the Seahawks’ running backs, Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, were both

listed as questionable. There are also a number of matchup advantages that are in the Eagles’ favor this week:

Both of these teams are in dire need of winning this game. After the Eagles’ two

consecutive losses, Philadelphia feels as though everything is falling from the sky.

There’s pressure to release some of that pressure. In contrast, the Seahawks were leading the NFC West at one point, but they have lost four straight and could

miss the playoffs completely. In that case, Pete Carroll’s employment would probably be in grave jeopardy.

Since the Eagles haven’t defeated Seattle in three presidential administrations, I’ll

say they did. Though I’m not counting on the Seahawks to completely collapse and make the Birds the NFC’s team to beat,

the Eagles need to win any way they can, even if it means Jalen Hurts pulling off a huge late-game comeback in prime time.
