Stars from Aston Villa disagree with Unai Emery as they strive for a Champions League opportunity.

Aston Villa stars in disagreement with Unai Emery as they push for Champions League chance.

Aston Villa are currently third in the Premier League, just two points off league leaders Liverpool, and Unai Emery’s stars are now dreaming of a top four finish

The players at Aston Villa are dreaming of winning the Champions League, something Unai Emery won’t like.

The manager of Villa has been eager to downplay any notion that his team would end up gatecrashing the top four

at the end of the current campaign. He’s been questioned about the prospect a lot,

particularly after Villa Park’s 15-game winning streak.

But he says, “We are contenders – but there are also seven others,” refusing to put his team under needless strain.

But it seems that some of his first-team players aren’t buying into the Spanish manager’s desire to downplay the circumstances. Emery’s devotion to detail, according to right-back Matty Cash, makes him a unique managerial talent. And while it’s still a long way off, he acknowledged that it’s something to strive toward.

“As a group, we’ve learned a lot from the manager,” he stated. We have a lot of long meetings, but he pays amazing attention to detail, and it’s working.

“The manager has discussed with us the importance of having confidence in our team’s ability to stick together and not relying solely on luck.” We deserve to be at the top, which is why we are. We want to improve upon our performance from the previous year, when we made it to Europe.

If we follow through on it, we’ll definitely place in the Champions League or finish in the European half of the standings. It’s quite a far off. All of us have goals we’d want to accomplish; all we need to do is concentrate on the task at hand.

For last Thursday’s match against Zrinjski Mostar, Emery made

substitutions and altered his starting lineup; eight players who began the win

over Arsenal were left off the field in Bosnia.

Halfway through their five-week schedule of ten games before the New Year, Villa is in action. However, thus far,

they are managing to handle the two demands.Like Cash, homegrown player

Jacob Ramsey felt that the Champions League is a legitimate goal.

“At this point, our aim should be the top four based on how we’re playing and the

results we’re getting, especially at home,” he stated. I don’t see why we couldn’t

carry over our home form into the road games.

“We’ve got the Europa Conference League to focus on and hopefully we can reach the later stages of that competition, too. There are a lot of teams fighting for those Champions League spots.”
