Latest news:Brighton might hijack Tottenham’s attempt to get a wide forward
|Report: Brighton could hijack Tottenham’s move for wide-forward
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur needs to be careful not to let
Brighton beat them to sign Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior.
Iling-Junior, who is believed to be eager to leave Juventus in search of regular
playing time, has been rated as the favorite to sign with Tottenham over the
past month by a number of Italian publications (TMW).
The Lilywhites’ positive relationship with the Juventus leadership is one of the reasons Spurs have an advantage, as
TuttoSport noted last week. They plan to take use of this friendship.
Brighton could make charge for Samuel Iling-Junior
TEAMtalk have now asserted that Iling-Junior is on the radars of several other
Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham, but
they allege that it is Brighton who could make the first move.
According to the report, the Seagulls have “a long-standing interest” in the 20-
year-old and may consider making a move if the Spurs are unable to complete the transaction.
According to the article, Tottenham has not yet established “firm contact” over a
deal for Iling-Junior and, should they wait too long, may lose out on the Chelsea academy product.
According to TEAMtalk, the Bianconeri intend to use the £15 million they get for
the winger’s sale to Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul.
Spurs Web Opinion
With his potential and homegrown status, Iling-Junior was never going to be
a free agent for Tottenham. The news that teams like Brighton, Villa, and
Newcastle are also interested is by no means shocking.
With the young team he is constructing at Spurs,
perhaps Postecoglou might
convince the 20-year-old that a move to N17 would be the ideal step for his development.
