Emery vows to tackle indiscipline after Villa beat Brentford

London (AFP) – Aston Villa manager Unai Emery pledged to tackle his players’ behaviour after ugly scenes towards the end of their 2-1 win at Brentford on Sunday.

At the close of halftime, Keane Lewis-Potter gave the home team the lead. However, roughly 20 minutes later, Brentford defender Ben Mee was sent off for colliding too closely with Leon Bailey, changing the course of the match.

In the 77th minute, Ollie Watkins completed the comeback, and eight

minutes later, Alex Moreno had tied the score.

Due to Watkins’ celebration in front of his former supporters, there was commotion on the field, and Saman

Ghoddos and Ezri Konsa were given yellow cards by the referee.

Boubacar Kamara, a midfielder for Villa, was sent off for violent behavior far into stoppage time.

The win moved Emery’s team up to the top of the Premier League table, one point clear of Arsenal before Sunday’s match between Manchester United and Liverpool.

Emery promised to address the lack of discipline.

“At the end some moments, some behaviour, of us as well, I’m going to

manage our behaviour and take control of it,” he stated to the BBC. It was

abnormal, so I will analyze it with our guys.

We needed to maintain self-control because we were a little too thrilled. When you respond in that way, it’s possible that other players and the opposing team are not acting appropriately for the match.

“Everything we did that wasn’t right and our behavioral errors would be handled by me.

“Maybe it’s not the best for football and for us but always we have very good

behaviour with the referees, always respect their decisions, VAR and I will keep doing the same.”
