Official deal: Brighton star sign a new deal with the club

Brighton prodigy signs new contract – ‘Continued to grow’

A Brighton youngster has put pen to paper on a new deal with the club.
Samy Chouchane, a midfielder from Tunisia, has extended his contract through June 2025.
The 20-year-old midfield player was included in the starting lineup for the last two Europa League group stage games against Marseille and AEK Athens.
“Samy has continued to grow and we are pleased with his development since he joined the club. It’s also been great to see
him get an opportunity with the first team more recently,” stated Shannon
Ruth, head coach of the men’s under-21 team.
“Samy’s progress has earned him this contract, so it’s critical that he use these experiences as fuel to keep going and have a strong second half of the season.”
Chouchane “worked his way up” through the age group teams, according to technical director David Weir, and most recently he was part of the first team group.
“This new contract is a reward for that,” he continued. “That’s testament to his attitude, hard work, and development in the three years he has been with us.”
In July 2020, Samy resigned from AC Boulogne-Billancourt to play with the Seagulls, initially for the under-18 team.
In his debut season, he took home the Under-17s Premier League Cup and proved himself as a consistent member of the under-21 squad the following year.
Samy, a football player for Tunisia who was born in France, was called up to the national team in September. He earned 10 caps while playing for them at the Under-20 World Cup in 2023.
