Just in:Hw was hand teasinged by the saints players after been sack

Tommy DeVito taunted by Saints players with hand gesture after sacks

In New Orleans, Tommy Cutlets is not popular.

Throughout the first half of the Giants’ game against the Saints on Sunday, rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito was the target of constant jeers from New Orleans players who used the satirical “Tommy Cutlets” hand motion after sacking the quarterback.

Initially, one of New Orleans’ four sacks before halftime came from defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon, who made the move after taking down DeVito in the second quarter.

Bryan Bresee, a rookie defensive tackle, sacked DeVito during that disastrous drive and made a similar motion with his hand.

The mocking hand gesture is a reaction to DeVito’s trademark motion, which he

has used after scoring touchdown passes in his unexpected ascent to the position of quarterback for the Giants.

After not being selected in this year’s draft, DeVito signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent. He has since

become a star, at least temporarily, helping the 2-8 Giants win three straight

games going into Sunday’s game in New Orleans.

DeVito was thrust into action due to injuries to Daniel Jones and backup Tyrod Taylor, but kept the starting job even after Taylor returned to health.

Living at home in New Jersey with his parents, DeVito has become a cult hero

in the same vein as Jeremy Lin with the Knicks in 2012.

Thanks largely to DeVito’s spark, the Giants were still theoretically in the running for the NFC playoffs going into

Sunday, but the Saints are obviously not impressed.
