BREAKING: New York Jets’ QB Plan Amid Zach Wilson’s Injury, Confirmed

In the event that Zach Wilson is not ready to play in Week 16 against the Washington, Robert Saleh and the New York Jets have a backup plan ready.

For those who are unaware, Wilson had a concussion during the Miami Dolphins’ shutout victory in Week 15. Early reports suggested that the Jets quarterback’s late-second-quarter departure was due to dehydration.

But Wilson’s head injury was later determined to have occurred. Saleh informed the media on Monday that their quarterback is undergoing the concussion protocol. If Wilson is able to get through the protocol before Sunday’s game against the Commanders, he will start; if not, Trevor Siemian will be New York’s starting quarterback, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

It actually doesn’t matter who the New York Jets have at quarterback come

Week 15 because they are already eliminated from playoff contention. In

the end, the Jets’ season was a complete letdown, even though the squad may be

expecting for a decent finish and a happy ending.

As New York attempts to build more for the upcoming season, hopes are high that Zach Wilson will be able to heal in time and receive some much-needed reps as the starting quarterback. However, it’s also not a terrible thing if Trevor Siemian plays.

Don’t Expect Aaron Rodgers To Start for New York Jets if Zach Wilson Is Out

With Zach Wilson potentially getting sidelined in Week 16 due to concussion, many might be wondering why the New York Jets are not considering on playing Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers has been cleared to practice and is expected to be medically cleared to play as well. With that being said, it might be the perfect time to get him some playing time under his legs after sustaining an injury in Week 1.

However, with their season basically over, there’s really no benefit for the Jets to risk their starting quarterback. An earlier report mentioned that it’s the current thinking of the top New York brass.

Ian Rapoport stated on From The Insiders, “I’ve talked to several very high-

ranking members of the Jets organization who do not want Aaron

Rodgers on the field unless they absolutely really have to.”

They’re not in the playoffs right now, so it’s as if there’s nothing to play for. He is not welcome on the field. There’s no way they would risk 2024. They don’t want to take the chance of another tear.

Given the circumstances, Rodgers’ return to the Jets won’t happen until 2024.
