Breaking:To fill the void until the major transformation is finished, Nottingham Forest plans to ….

As the City Ground is undergoing a major renovation, Nottingham Forest intends to add two new features. The Premier

League team recently submitted plans to Rushcliffe Borough Council to rearrange the stadium’s layout, adding two new

hospitality areas at the Trent End’s corners made of repurposed shipping containers.

Twenty private hospitality pods would be positioned in the present spaces

between the stand, which faces the River Trent, and the Brian Clough and Peter

Taylor stands. With 18 fans per suggested hospitality pod, the total additional capacity would be 360.

According to the planning documents, each pod would have a separate

hospitality area with a kitchenette and “unobstructed views” of the pitch. Tom

Cartledge, the club’s chairman, had previously stated that the organization

would consider using container stands as a temporary way to boost attendance while the multi-million pound

transformation project at City Ground moved forward.

The club announced that they were thinking about temporary seating to

increase capacity in response to the overwhelming demand for tickets. It appears that this idea has been realized

with the recently submitted plans. Planning documents also stated that the Irrigation Tank House and Lower Brian

Clough turnstiles would be demolished to make room for the temporary hospitality zones

A brand-new perimeter fence would keep it safe. The modifications would not

impact wheelchair access to Lower Brian Clough or emergency vehicle access.

Nottingham Forest Football Club’s architect BENOY stated in a planning document: “The application proposed

provides a temporary solution to provide additional premium seating, responding to the club’s fan base’s growing needs.”
