Thunder’s Luguentz Dort Makes Bold Prediction For Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

Luguentz Dort, a forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder, thinks point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has what it takes to rank among the greatest players in NBA history.

Gilgeous-Alexander has performed like a top-tier superstar for the Thunder over the past two seasons.

Gilgeous-Alexander shot 51.0% overall, 34.5% from three, and 90.5% from the foul line last season to average 31.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.0 blocks. He was chosen for the All-NBA First Team and made his first All-Star team.

Gilgeous-Alexander is shooting 53.8% from the field, 32.5% from outside the arc, and 91.4% from the free-throw line

while averaging 30.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 2.8 steals, and 0.8

blocks this season. The Thunder have a 17–8 record. According to the Western

Conference standings, they are in second position.

In the NBA, Gilgeous-Alexander ranks fourth overall, fourth in points scored

per game, 17th overall, 15th in assists per game, first overall, first in steals per

game, and third among players in steals per game.

For the first time since 2020, the Thunder are well on their approach to qualifying for the postseason this year. One of the best players in the NBA, Gilgeous-Alexander is surrounded by a strong core from OKC in Dort, Josh Giddey, Isaiah Joe, Jalen Williams, and Chet Holmgren.

In exchange for Paul George in 2019, the Los Angeles Clippers sent Gilgeous-Alexander and many draft picks to the Thunder. The Clippers, led by George and Kawhi Leonard, have yet to advance to the NBA Finals. Gilgeous-Alexander is guiding the Thunder, who have a very bright future ahead of them.
