Reasons why Nuno Espirito was the best coach for the Nottingham Forest Job

Nuno, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the team, will be the match director for Forest’s Saturday

encounter against Bournemouth at The City Ground.

“The 49-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the table having managed

over 460 games in the Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Europa League over his career.

Before taking over Valencia in 2014, Nuno started his managerial career at Rio Ave, where he led the Portuguese team to two cup finals and their first-ever Europa League qualification.

He steered the Spanish outfit to Champions League football with a fourth-placed finish in La Liga in

2014/15, before spending a year in charge of Porto where he won 27 of his 49 games at the helm.

When Nuno took over as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017, a move to England occurred. After winning the Sky Bet Championship, he guided Wolves into the Premier League during his four seasons at Molineux. Their first two seasons back in the top flight were marked by consecutive seventh-place finishes.

Nuno also brought Wolves into Europe, leading them to the Europa League quarterfinals in 2019–20. His departure in 2021 ended an outstanding career in the West Midlands.

Nuno comes to The City Ground having most recently managed in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad, where he guided the team to league and domestic cup honors last season. Nuno had previously held management positions with Tottenham Hotspur during the 2021/22 campaign.
