Latest transfer:Nottingham Forest and Manchester United are allegedly in the running to sign League 1 Top Defender

Arouna Sangante, a central defender for Le Havre, is reportedly wanted by Nottingham Forest before the January transfer window opens.

On Saturday afternoon, Nuno Espirito Santo managed his first Forest match, but the team lost 3-2 at home against Bournemouth.

Prior to the January transfer window, Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna were kicked out of first-team training earlier this month, so we still expect them to go.

Two center backs will undoubtedly be let go, and rumors about Fluminense defender Nino will persist.

Arouna Sangante, defender for Le Havre, is reportedly attracting Forest’s attention, according to Alan Nixon of The Sun.

Le Havre was home to players like Steve Mandanda, Dimitri Payet, and Lassana Diarra, as well as former Forest teammates Brice Samba and Loic Bade.

Sangante, who has developed into a vital member of the first team over the last three years, may now be their next big acquisition.

After being promoted to the top division, Le Havre sits 11th in the Ligue 1 table

this season thanks in large part to the contributions of the 6′ 2″ center back.

Although Sangante has not yet received a call-up from Senegal, it won’t be long

until he does, joining the ranks of Moussa Niakhate and Cheikhou Kouyate.

It wouldn’t be shocking to see another center back given Felipe’s ongoing injury issues and the anticipated departures of Worrall and McKenna.

Boly and Niakhate are expected to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations, so Forest will be considering center back targets.

Some may be perplexed by the purchase of another young defender, even one

with Sangante’s caliber, since the Irishman hasn’t even been given a chance yet.

Although there is fierce competition for Sangante, and signing him in January

would be a coup for Forest, Nuno ought to give Omobamidele a serious look before pursuing this deal.

On deadline day, however, Forest did manage to sign a youthful center back from Norwich City in Andrew Omobamidele.
