Lions Make Merry Memories This Christmas with Exciting …

The Detroit Lions were never going to have an easy time clinching the NFC North.

The fans had to endure 60 tense minutes of action as the Lions and Minnesota Vikings squared off, having waited 30 years to be on the verge of this accomplishment.

Before Ifeatu Melifonwu sealed the victory by intercepting Nick Mullens’ pass close to the end zone, the Lions’ two-

score lead almost vanished in the final minute. The Lions won 30-24 to claim their first-ever NFC North division title as the clock approached triple zeroes.

When facing Minnesota’s blitzes, Goff excelled. He was 22 of 28 for 183 yards

and a touchdown against the Vikings defense, according to NFL’s Next Gen Stats.

Additionally, in the first half, the veteran ran two yards on a quarterback sneak to convert a fourth-down. Additionally, he

escaped harm when the ball was deemed incomplete and knocked out of his possession.

He ultimately completed 30 of 40 passes for 257 yards, good for a quarterback rating of 99.7

On his first reception of the game, Jahmyr Gibbs fumbled, but he recovered quite well. The rookie scored two

significant touchdowns and accumulated 100 all-purpose yards.

He was displaying his signature short-area quickness, consistently forcing defenders to miss at the point of attack.

Gibbs now has 872 rushing yards after his 80 yards on the ground. The Lions

stand a very good chance of having two 1,000-yard rushers in 2023 with David Montgomery at 910.

Montgomery gained 55 yards in total on 17 carries. He took a major hit in the second quarter and saw little action in

the third, but he came back into the game in the fourth quarter as the Lions tried to run out the game

Amon-Ra St. Brown had his eighth 100-yard game of the season Sunday and

surpassed 1,200 receiving yards. In just his third NFL season, he now has over 3,300 yards to his name.

He caught Goff’s lone touchdown pass of the game, a 1-yard pitch-and-catch in the third quarter. He also had a key third

down conversion, and eight of his 12 catches went for first downs including the touchdown.
