So sad:Farke reveals a new blow, as Leeds defender is absent from the squad against Preston

Luke Ayling, a defender for Leeds United against Preston North End, has “no chance” of playing in the match, according to Daniel Farke.

Due to injury, Ayling has missed United’s last eight games; most recently, he was

absent from the team’s 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday, December 23.

The 32-year-old is eager to play again, but he is not included in the provisional

squad, so he won’t play against Preston on Tuesday, December 26, at Deepdale.

Sadly, Luke was unable to compete due to knee issues, Farke is reported by Leeds Live to have stated.

“He wasn’t in the squad [against Ipswich] for that reason.” I’m hoping he can get back to us soon.

Farke may choose to use other players in place of Ayling in Leeds’ 24-man provisional roster for their match against Preston.

Ayling hasn’t started for Leeds since the team’s 1-0 victory over Queen Park Rangers on October 4.

Although it is not ideal to use players out of position, Archie Gray has done a good job filling in at right-back and making sure Ayling’s absence has not been felt.

Naturally, Farke will want the defender back in the field as soon as possible, but he won’t send Ayling back too soon.

Before the trip to Preston, Leeds’ other injury concerns are Sam Byram,

Shackleton, and Anthony. Hopefully, the injury list stays as short as it is.
