Breaking:Negotiation are ongoing for Nuno Expirito Top priority signing in January that will …

With Nuno Espirito Santo leading them, Nottingham Forest is reportedly “close” to finalizing the first signing.

At St. James’ Park, Chris Wood’s hat-trick helped Forest defeat his old team,

Newcastle United, 3-1, giving the new Reds manager his first victory since joining the team on Boxing Day. The

team’s performance put them ahead of Everton and into 16th position in the standings.

Nuno will probably want to add players as the January transfer window draws near in order to help him salvage the

team’s season. And it appears that he is bringing in possible targets without any delay.

When the transfer window opens, Forest is reportedly in “advanced negotiations”

to sign Monaco winger Gelso Martins, according to Maisfutebol. With just six

months remaining on his contract, the Ligue 1 team is open to offering the 28-year-old a permanent deal.

Martins moved to Monaco from Spanish team Atletico Madrid in January 2019. He

signed a loan agreement at first, then moved permanently the following

summer. For Monaco, he has made 129 appearances, contributing 14 assists and 16 goals.

At the start of the January transfer window, Forest will be eager to increase their attacking capabilities. Due to Taiwo

Awoniyi’s injury, the team will probably prioritize scoring more goals in the new

year, even though Nuno has already acknowledged that cutting the squad is a top priority.
