As Enzo Maresca gets ready for absences, these are the Leicester City players included in AFCON squads.

Leicester City is anticipated to be among the teams in the Championship this

season most impacted by the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.

January 3 is the cutoff date for the 24 participating teams to announce their final 27-man roster. However, this hasn’t

stopped some of the countries from announcing their final choices ahead of the competition.

The competition runs from January 13 to February 11, with the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan hosting the

championship game. Due to worries that it would fall during the rainy season, the original summer schedule was changed.

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have been included in Nigeria’s

preliminary 40-man roster, as anticipated. Ndidi and Iheanacho are

predicted to be in the final tournament squad, which could be revealed at any time.

Ghana has only unveiled their preliminary 55-man tournament roster thus far. Abdul Fatawu is on that list, but

it remains to be seen if he makes the final squad. The 19-year-old has been in and out of the squad during the last few

international breaks, but his performance for City may earn him a spot.

Zambia has not yet released an official squad announcement, similar to Ghana and Nigeria. But because striker Patson

Daka is a team mainstay, it is expected that he will represent his country in the tournament.
