Leeds United is eager to sign a playmaker with 56 Premier League appearances for £11.5 million.

The Peacocks have a busy schedule ahead of them as Daniel Farke looks to bolster his squad in preparation for the

second half of the season. Leeds’ recent performance has shown that there is still work to be done in the winter market.

Having only won two of the last five games—two of which have ended in

draws and two losses—Farke’s team has been incredibly inconsistent lately.

Following a Boxing Day loss to Preston North End, the Whites dropped to fourth

place in the Championship and remained eight points behind Ipswich Town’s second automatic promotion spot.

These performances have demonstrated that if Farke’s team is to successfully

pursue Ipswich or even Leicester City, then Leeds still needs to make some roster improvements in January.

Sam Matterface said on talkSPORT on Friday morning that Leeds is hoping to

sign David Brooks from Bournemouth during the winter transfer window to increase depth in the forward line, but

Southampton, a team vying for promotion, will be a rival. [quotes via MOT Leeds News:

Two different Championship teams are vying for Brooks in an attempt to get him back to the Premier League.

Yes, Southampton and Leeds United are two of that division’s top teams.

“I’ve been informed that Leeds has a packed schedule for January to make

sure they can return to the Premier League when they ask to.

Obviously, Wales has these important playoff games for a spot at the European

Championships coming up, so I think Brooks will be looking to go out and try and get some game time under his belt.

He hasn’t played much football this season, certainly not as much as he would’ve expected to.”

Brooks, who joined the team in 2018 for a fee of £11.5 million, has seen very little

game action this season after returning from a lengthy absence toward the end

of the previous campaign. Under Andoni Iraola, he has only played in 244 minutes of league action.

Leeds United would be making a huge signing with this. David Brooks is a top-

tier player who only needs regular playing time to reach his full potential.

According to Transfermarkt, he has made 56 Premier League appearances overall in his career.

Furthermore, given how little Iraola has played this season, it appears likely that

the Cherries will consent to the Wales international leaving on loan until the end of the campaign.
