Daniel Farke says one Leeds player was “nearly perfect” against

Following Leeds United’s victory over Birmingham City, Daniel Farke gave his

assessment of Georginio Rutter’s performance, pointing out that he has now advanced in a number of areas.

Georginio Rutter did not register a point on Monday, but he played a great number 10 role for the Whites as we won 3-0 to begin 2024.

Georginio has spent the majority of this season playing at number nine for Daniel

Farke. However, the Frenchman typically doesn’t need much prodding to dive in and participate in the build-up play

It was therefore not shocking that he played flawlessly behind Patrick

Bamford on Monday. In remarks obtained by Leeds Live, Farke also expressed his satisfaction with the 21-

year-old’s performance, saying that it helped Leeds resume their push for Championship promotion

played him in a deeper role over time. We feel he has made progress in many

areas, so go deeper with him,” he said. Levels of fitness necessary to cover more ground. His confidence levels and his

neatness with the ball. He lost the ball in tight spots previously, but he possesses positional discipline. He can succeed if

he plays like this. He achieved it almost perfectly today. It was beneficial to have Patrick as an attack target.

Georginio’s move to the number 10 spot has been long overdue for many. Joel Piroe, who joined in the summer with a

track record in the second division with Swansea City, is the more natural goal scorer.

He has nine assists, though. On that front, he is among the division’s most

prolific players. It makes perfect sense, then, for him to be in the number 10 position.

It will be interesting to observe whether Joel Piroe is affected by this shift and whether it is a permanent one.
