Transfer update news:Ex-Collingwood Star player finds new home as he signed a contract with new club

Ex-Collingwood and Adelaide onballer finds new home

The 24-year-old has returned to Victoria.

Tyler Brown, a former midfielder for Adelaide and Collingwood, has moved

back to Victoria and signed a contract with Box Hill in the VFL for the 2024 season.

After a year in South Australia with the Crows, Brown moves to Middleborough

Road to join his older brother Callum at the Hawks.

After spending the previous five years at Collingwood, the 24-year-old joined

Adelaide as a Supplemental Selection Period list addition prior to the 2023 season.

Brown followed in the footsteps of his father Gavin, a championship player and

member of Collingwood’s Team of the Century, by selecting the Magpies in the

2017 National Draft as a father-son acquisition.

Before being delisted by the Magpies along with his brother at the end of the previous season, Brown, a tall

midfielder, appeared in 27 games for the black and white.

Callum joined the Hawks right away, but Tyler was waiting to sign with Footscray,

a rival VFL team, before being granted a training opportunity at West Lakes.

After serving as Adelaide’s coach for a brief period of time, Brown signed a one-year contract with the Crows for 2023.

Brown was not given the option to extend his contract with the Crows past

this season after participating in just one AFL game for the season.

The former two-club midfielder has now reunited with his brother, signing with Box Hill for 2024.

“Keen to join the Box Hill footy club,” Brown said in a club post.

“They’ve always been tough opponents. Excited to be playing with my brother again and can’t wait to get into 2024.”

Brown joins 2022 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner Ethan Phillips in joining the Hawks for next season.

Box Hill amassed a third-place finish in the VFL this year before bowing out in a

preliminary final to eventual premiers Gold Coast.
