Huge injury blow: Sunderland confirms yet another horrific injury to a vital player

Sunderland defender Dennis Cirkin suffers injury setback in training

It is anticipated that DENNIS CIRKIN would be sidelined for several weeks due to an injury setback.

Since the beginning of September, Cirkin has only made three substitute

appearances due to a persistent hamstring issue that is proving to be challenging to resolve.

Over the holiday season, the defender tried to increase his workout volume, but he had to reduce it as his pain increased.

He has thus been sent for more scans, which appear to rule him out of first-team play for yet another extended period of time.

Bradley Dack, who signed with Sunderland this summer from Blackburn Rovers, is expected to be out for two to

three weeks due to a hamstring injury he sustained during the team’s Boxing Day

victory over Hull City, according to Sunderland manager Michael Beale.

Beale stated, “Bradley and Dennis won’t be available; we’ll be missing them for a

while.” “Bradley’s hamstring injury is expected to heal in four weeks at most,

but that’s likely the best diagnosis we could have received.

“We will go through the process of getting the scans because Dennis didn’t feel quite right when he returned to training. We’ll give feedback when we can.”

The good news regarding Jay Matete is that he has resumed playing for Sunderland’s Under-21 team.

Beale stated, “Jay is and has been training for some time.” “He played for 45 minutes in an Under-21 match, but he hasn’t been chosen for the past few games.” He is therefore open to selection.
