Despite being “surprised” by the suspension, Jaire Alexander is prepared to 

 

Jaire Alexander, a cornerback for the Packers, returned to the practice field on

Wednesday alongside his peers. He was looking forward, not back, following his one-game suspension by the team.

Alexander reported that his meetings with general manager Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur had gone well.

According to Wes Hodkiewicz of the team website, Alexander stated following

practice, “I think it was definitely something to learn from.” “There were undoubtedly ways that I could have

communicated better during that [Carolina] week. It won’t occur again going ahead.”

Charlotte native Alexander declared himself a captain, moving to midfield

alongside the other three chosen captains for the Week 16 match against Carolina. He then misinformed referee

Alex Kemp that the Packers preferred to “play defense” as opposed to defer, almost forcing the team to attempt a double kickoff.

LaFleur stated last week that there were multiple reasons for Alexander’s suspension.

 

Yes, the suspension surprised me, Alexander admitted. “I thought maybe I’d get fined.”

Alexander stated that there is no animosity as a result of the suspension and stated that he intends to stay with the Packers until 2024.

“We all just agreed to be on the same page with communication moving forward,” Alexander stated. It has no

bearing on my relationships with anyone. If anything, I believe it got better.”

LaFleur declined to comment on Alexander’s Sunday starting position.

“I’m not going to get into too many of the specifics,” LaFleur stated. Later this week, you guys will learn the truth. I will admit, though, that it was wonderful to

have him back. After our excellent discussion on Monday, I believe he’s prepared to move forward.

On Wednesday, Jaire Alexander, the cornerback, returned to the Packers.

Following the team’s victory over the Vikings on Sunday night, Alexander received a suspension. In Week 16 against the Panthers, Alexander had

taken it upon himself to go onto the field for the coin toss. Misleadingly, he claimed the team wanted to play defense

after winning the toss, but Packers head coach Matt LaFleur insisted that discipline

LaFleur declared on Wednesday that Alexander is “good to go” for the Bears

game on Sunday. Despite having a shoulder injury, he was listed as a full participant on the team’s injury report.

Christian Watson, a wide receiver, made his practice return after sitting out the previous four games due to a hamstring injury. Security Watson was joined as a

limited participant by wide receiver Jayden Reed (chest), defensive lineman T.J. Slaton (knee, foot), linebacker Quay

Walker (shoulder), tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney), offensive lineman Josh Myers (neck), cornerback Keisean

Nixon (quad), safety Jonathan Owens (knee), and wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (chest).

Practice was missed by guard Elgton Jenkins (knee, ankle), running back AJ Dillon (thumb, neck), safety Rudy Ford

(hamstring), linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (concussion, neck), and linebacker Preston Smith (ankle).
