Rangers and Celtic are now vying for a £3 million signing, Scotland International

According to reports, Scott McKenna is up for grabs at Ibrox, with Glasgow

Rangers and the Parkhead team competing for his signature. McKenna is a Scotland international.

Rangers currently trails Celtic by eight points in the Scottish Premiership

standings, but the Ibrox team still has two games remaining against Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Journalist Alex Crook of talkSPORT now claims that Rangers and Celtic will

compete off the field to try to sign the defender from Nottingham Forest.

The reporter went on X to report that he has been informed that NFFC defender Scott McKenna is a target for both Rangers FC and Celtic FC

Given the competitive Premiership title race that is currently underway, both

Rangers and Celtic will want to bolster their rosters in order to compete for championships this year.

They would also be getting a top-tier player with elite experience for a possible steal in McKenna.

In September 2020, the 27-year-old made a £3 million transfer from Aberdeen to

Forest, and he has since made 105 appearances overall for Forest.

Forest has been in the English top division since 2022 thanks to McKenna’s

efforts in helping the team win promotion to the Premier League.

The center back, though, has lost favor at Forest and hasn’t featured for the Reds

since mid-September after suffering a serious injury in the second half of the previous campaign.

McKenna’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and according to

Aberdeen Live, he has been informed he can leave the team

He can now freely discuss signing a pre-contract with clubs outside of England.

It might be entertaining to watch this transfer drama unfold. McKenna has a

clear track record in the Scottish Premier League and has excelled both domestically and internationally.

If Rangers and Celtic are able to bring him to Parkhead or Ibrox in the

upcoming weeks, they will be strengthened.

We’ll see in the coming weeks what transpires. This appears to be a lead for a transfer with some legs.
