Thursday’s injuries for the Packers and Bears: Is Watson Ready for Sunday?

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin: In terms of the Green Bay Packers’ playoff-or-bust home

game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, at least, they are trending in the right direction at receiver.

Every injured receiver for Green Bay practiced for the second day in a row.

Thursday’s practice was the longest of the week, in contrast to Wednesday’s, which was done at a jog-through pace to

give the players a little more time off following the Sunday night victory at Minnesota.

It was significant that wide receiver Christian Watson was available. It was

his first 11-on-11 practice since he strained his hamstring toward the end of

the Chiefs game. The team’s top big-play threat looks ready to go after sitting out the previous four games.

I’m approaching each and every day as though I’m going to be going,” Watson remarked. “Hopefully, they allowed me

to go outside after I provided them with all the information they required.” In any case, I’m treating it like a typical

game week, so I believe my chances of playing are high because I’m treating it like a game.

After missing the second half of the team’s game against Minnesota due to a

chest injury, rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed, who leads the team with 60 receptions for 681 yards and is tied with

Romeo Doubs for the team lead with eight touchdown catches, was also back on the field.

Additionally, rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who was inactive

against Minnesota but had a breakout performance against Tampa Bay with six

receptions for 97 yards before hurting his chest on a first-half touchdown against Carolina, practice

It will be huge for us to be able to all go outside, play quickly, freely, and with each other, Watson stated.

Here are the things that coach Matt LaFleur finds more concerning. Running back AJ Dillon (thumb), safety Rudy Ford (hamstring), left guard Elgton Jenkins

(knee/ankle), linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (concussion), and outside linebacker Preston Smith (ankle) were the five

players who did not practice on Wednesday. They did not practice again on Thursday.

Whether Smith is the team’s most reliable front-seven defender or Jenkins is the team’s best blocker, all five of them contribute significantly to the team’s success.

Smith has amassed eight sacks while maintaining a consistent run defense after recording 1.5 sacks against Carolina and 1 against Minnesot

Late in the game, a Vikings tackler hit Jenkins from behind, causing him to miss the final four plays of the game. Jenkins

is expected to play, according to a source from earlier in the week, but the fact that he missed the first two practices may

indicate he won’t be at full strength against the league’s top run defense—the Bears.

McDuffie leads the team in tackles with 82, and he played for a few minutes last week after suffering a concussion.

De’Vondre Campbell, a former All-Pro, has practiced on both days this week despite missing the previous two.

tense conclusion Despite being placed on injured reserve, Luke Musgrave has

practiced on both of this week’s days following his kidney injury sustained on November 19 against the Chargers.

After practice on Thursday, coach Matt

LaFleur will update this story with the most recent, comprehensive injury

report. Here are the 21 players listed on Wednesday as of right now.
