Goodison Park is about to undergo major changes.

According to Football Transfers, Everton Football Club is actively looking to

offload midfielder Andre Gomes as they navigate through a difficult period. The

Portuguese player is being pressured to leave Goodison Park after making his first start in more than 500 days against

Manchester City. Gomes’ departure appears more likely as Benfica and Saudi Pro League clubs show interest.

With a salary of £120,000 a week, Gomes has become a major financial burden for Everton. The club is hesitant to match his

current wage bracket due to their precarious financial situation. With only six months left on his contract, it’s

thought Everton could fetch a respectable price for the 30-year-old, who signed in 2018 from Barcelona.

Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, has a distinct vision for the future of the

team, one that centers on players who fit his ideal type. In keeping with this,

Dyche is supposedly not considering former Manchester United attacker Jesse

Lingard. After leaving Nottingham Forest, Lingard had been training with

Steven Gerrard’s team Al Ettifaq. However, he never finished his move to Saudi Arabia.

Given their financial limitations, Everton is seeking reinforcements from the loan

market. Josh Brownhill, a midfielder for Burnley, is the club’s transfer target for January. Dyche is a fan of Brownhill and

believes the 28-year-old has potential. Brownhill’s contract with Burnley expires in 2024. This plan outlines

Everton’s strategy for overcoming their financial obstacles and bolstering the team.

Everton’s transfer strategy, in particular the choice to let go of Andre Gomes and

the pursuit of loan signings such as Josh Brownhill, is indicative of the team’s attempts to strike a balance between its

competitive aspirations and its ability to maintain financial stability. Everton’s moves during the January transfer

window will be closely watched, as they could have an impact on their on-field

success as well as their financial situation.
