Due to a muscle injury, Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City, will be sidelined for three months.
The 27-year-old was substituted in Africa’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations squad
on Wednesday after missing the Foxes’ Championship victory over Huddersfield on New Year’s Day.
Ndidi might miss fifteen of Leicester’s final twenty league games this season due to a three-month absence.
It will be a long time for Wilf, according to Foxes manager Enzo Maresca.
“Three months may pass. It appears to be a muscle issue, but it’s a significant one, so we’ll see in the coming hours.”
Ndidi, who won the FA Cup with Leicester and is nearing the end of his King Power Stadium contract, has been a vital component of Maresca’s table-topping Foxes.
In 24 appearances across all competitions, he has six assists and four goals.
