In a dramatic transfer twist, Everton is ‘trying to hijack’ the Manchester United star’s loan exit.

It has been reported that Everton has attempted to ‘hijack’ Sevilla’s loan move

for Hannibal Mejbri, a midfield player for Manchester United.

After United decided to activate a 12-month extension on Hannibal’s contract

earlier this week, it appears that he will be leaving the team temporarily this month. He, along with defenders Aaron

Wan-Bissaka and Victor Lindelof, were one of three Reds who had their contracts extended.

For the next six months, Hannibal’s services have been in high demand, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the

Tunisian is expected to sign with Sevilla after rejecting offers from Freiburg and Marseille.

However, the transfer expert soon revealed that Everton was trying to scuttle the deal by moving slowly. He also

mentioned that the player and both clubs had been in communication with each other all day.

Due to Abdoulaye Doucoure’s hamstring injury, which has kept him out of the last five games, Everton needs midfield

reinforcements. Dwight McNeil’s stretcher-out during Thursday’s 0-0 FA Cup draw at Crystal Palace dealt another

blow to Sean Dyche’s team, which has been lacking depth in the advanced midfield position.

Everton has had to be astute during transfer windows in recent years after

receiving a 10-point deduction for breaking financial fair play rules. They intend to be active in the loan market

this month, and Hannibal presents them with an affordable opportunity to gain Premier League experience.

The likelihood of Hannibal leaving United coincides with a possible larger

purge of fringe players, either temporarily or permanently. The need

for a deep squad has decreased as a result of the Champions League and Carabao Cup eliminations.

The midfielder made a number of impressive appearances for United

towards the end of the previous campaign, and in September, he scored

his first goal as a senior for the Reds in a 3-1 loss to Brighton. Erik ten Hag gave Hannibal credit for his enthusiasm and

dedication, but he hasn’t started since November 1 and his minutes have decreased.
