Unbelievable Latest news:Boston Celtics bench boss take a shot at the OKC Thunder superstar

Did the Boston Celtics bench boss take a shot at the OKC Thunder superstar?

The Oklahoma City Thunder knocked off the Boston Celtics on Tuesday, and many believe Joe Mazzulla slighted Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in his recent press conference.

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Boston Celtics on Tuesday to start the New Year on a winning note, after a 10-3 December that earned them the titles of Western Conference Rookie and Player of the Month.

The Sports Media Landscape noticed how the Oklahoma City Thunder (23-10) are playing this season, as they rank second in the Western Conference, following their 127-123 victory against the elite Celtics.

Everything from crushing the Thunder opponents to pushing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander up the most recent player rankings lists of commentators and the never-ending calls for Oklahoma City to make a major impression.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 36 points, dished out seven assists, pulled down six rebounds, and shot 60 percent from outside the arc and 63 percent from the floor in the Thunder’s victory over Boston. In addition, the MVP front-runner secured a steal on defense.

Even though Jayson Tatum of the Celtics scored thirty points, grabbed thirteen

rebounds, dished out eight assists, and stole the game while shooting forty-

seven percent, the Canadian guard clearly took center stage.

Even though Jayson Tatum is leading the formidable Celtics, who look to be the early favorites to win the championship,

and having an incredible start to the season, he has not received the same

level of media attention as other NBA players, such as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

In an attempt to garner more attention for his own star, Joe Mazzulla took the floor at a recent news conference and

appeared to be taking a jab at Thunder player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Gilgeous-Alexander made his maiden All-Star participation last season, was

selected to the first team of the NBA All-Star squad, and finished fifth in the MVP

vote after setting the stage for himself to become a 31-point scorer per game with

almost five rebounds and five assists to go along with that offensive output.

The Kentucky native helped the Thunder surprise everyone with forty wins and a postseason appearance, but they were

unable to advance past the tenth seed in the NBA Play-In tournament. The max

contract point guard has continued to play at the same high level as he did

during the summer after dominating the competition at the FIBA World Cup.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is only 33 games into his second year of play at this level, though. Given the Thunder guard’s lack of overt media attention a year ago, it is definitely fair to label him as a “shiny new toy,” as Mazzulla puts it.

However, given that Gilgeous-Alexander is significantly more efficient than the legendary Celtics player and has Tatum

beaten in terms of points, assists, steals, and blocks per game, Thunder

supporters are not comfortable with this alleged disrespect.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is recording a 3.6 VORP versus Tatum’s 1.9 and a 10.4 BPM versus Tatum’s 4.6.

Mazzulla is correct, particularly in light of how excellent Boston is this year; Tatum should be included in these

discussions, but not at the expense of a certain flashy new object to which the

Celtics bench boss was probably alluding.
