Transfer update:Southampton very close on signing Leeds United target from PL club this week

Southampton closing in on Leeds United target from PL club this week – Journalist

David Brooks, an attacking midfielder for Bournemouth, has been linked to Leeds United this month, but Southampton seems to be closing in on the deal.

Leeds and their rivals for promotion are where they are mostly due to their offensive prowess, but that doesn’t mean

they won’t be looking to bolster this month with aggressive additions.

For Leeds, an attacking midfielder or right-sided winger would be the best way

to go about strengthening, which is the same for Southampton.

David Brooks on Leeds and Southampton’s radar

This month, TalkSPORT writer Alex Crook revealed that Bournemouth winger David Brooks is a target for both Leeds and Southampton, the team above them.

With just two starts in the Premier League this season, the right-sided attacker is not seeing a lot of action for Andoni Iraola’s struggling Cherries.

He has one goal and one assist in his 12 Premier League games. He also wore the captain’s armband from the outset of the FA Cup against QPR.

Southampton close in on Brooks deal

Now, journalist Nick Mashiter has reported that the Saints are closing in on agreeing to sign the Welsh international on loan

Given that the player won’t need to move anytime soon, Southampton’s proximity to Bournemouth may make this a much easier transaction for them to pursue than it was for us.

But Leeds has lost out on a great chance by not having a creative player like Brooks in the lineup.

We need to match him much more effectively with Crysencio Summerville because of his right wing skill, as our strategy can be erratic at times.

Still, I’m sure the team will act appropriately when information becomes available.
