‘Done’ – Championship winger drops transfer bombshell ahead of Newcastle United move

Newcastle United transfers: One Magpies winger believes his time at St James’ Park has come to an end.

Ryan Fraser feels that his time with Newcastle United is over. Under Eddie Howe’s orders, Fraser spent the second

part of the previous season practicing away from the Newcastle first team. He

is currently on loan at Southampton in the Championship.

Fraser joined the Saints on a temporary basis in the summer as they attempted to

win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Fraser hasn’t

played for the Magpies since October 2022. Fraser, who has grown to be a vital

member of Russell Martin’s team at St Mary’s, acknowledged in an interview

with the Daily Echo that he doesn’t anticipate being given another

opportunity to make an impression on Tyneside.

“I think my time at Newcastle is done now,” Fraser stated. If there is a

possibility that you will return, I don’t think you should be placed on loan. As

everyone has witnessed, the second part of the last season was difficult.

“My goal in coming here was to support the squad in whatever way I could. That

has been making an effect in games after coming off the bench. It feels so fantastic to support the team.

Fraser helped the Saints defeat Walsall in the FA Cup this past weekend, scoring twice and providing an assist. Under the

direction of former Norwich City defender Martin, Southampton, who are

presently three points outside of the automatic promotion spots in the

Championship, are hoping to rapidly recover from their top-flight relegation.

Martin, who went from Swansea City to the south coast during the summer, has talked recently about the possibility of

turning Fraser’s loan spell into a permanent one. Nevertheless, he

acknowledged, despite the club With player’s wish to make it a permanent

relocation, it could not be possible this month.

“I’m not sure, it’s really outside of my purview.” stated Martin. “Do you think I

should make it permanent? Indeed. Given the money at stake, the timing, and

his circumstances, I believe there is little likelihood that will occur.

“He simply needs to keep doing what he is doing; he is in a really good place and

enjoying it. I’m not sure if it will be possible right now. We’ll see, but I have a

good feeling he would want to continue on for the entire season.
