Aston Villa have cause for concern as fresh Jacob Ramsey injury update emerges following Everton clash

Due to a hamstring injury that will be of concern to the manager, Unai Emery has revealed that Jacob Ramsey will be missing more time due to injury at Aston Villa.

Journalist Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic stated on January 14, following the 0-0 draw with Everton, that Emery is hopeful Ramsey’s injury won’t keep him out for a long time, but more information will become available after the scan.

The 22-year-old has only started four games this season, and this is the latest in a string of injuries that have sidelined him. This news will be devastating to both Villa and Ramsey.

Ramsey would have been thinking the worst of his injury troubles which have blighted his season were finally behind him, having started six consecutive games in Unai Emery’s side, including playing 90 minutes in the FA Cup clash with Middlesbrough on 6 January.

Ramsey made three crucial passes, attempted four dribbles, three crosses, and three long balls in that match against Boro, which Villa won 1-0 to advance to the fourth round. Of those long passes, he found the target 100% of the time. [Sofascore]

In the cup match, he participated in 15 ground duels and won seven of them. He

also made one clearance, blocked a shot, and performed four tackles to break up

Despite his preference for attacking, he can play in midfield.

Before a cup match interrupted Ramsey’s 167 minutes of Premier League action against Burnley and Manchester United,

he had completed 13 ground duels, won three fouls, made two crucial passes, and

demonstrated once more why he is adored at Villa Park.

One could argue that Villa missed his intensity and offensive output given their limping to a 0-0 draw at Goodison

Park against Everton, who had the ball for 69% of the game and had 16 shots on

goal but were unable to score. [Sofascore]

With this new setback, Villa Park fans will be crossing their fingers that Ramsey

won’t be sidelined for an extended amount of time.
