In 2024, the Ohio State Buckeyes wants to change their offensive coordinator.

In 2024, the Ohio State Buckeyes hope to bring on a new offensive coordinator.

The Buckeyes are reportedly interested in Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen this offseason, per reports from Kentucky Sports Radio

After spending a season with the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, Coen returned to Mark Stoops’ staff in Lexington, and he is

anticipated to be considered for the Chicago Bears opening that will open after Luke Getsy was fired.

Coen, a Rhode Island native, joined the Wildcats in 2021 and, along with quarterback Will Levis, changed the

offensive dynamic. Kentucky finished with a 10-3 record, winning the Citrus Bowl 20-17 over Iowa.

The Wildcats’ offense placed in the top 50 in every category, including third-down

conversion rates, placing them among the best teams. Coen and Kentucky

finished 7-6 last season in his return to Kroger Field, losing to Clemson in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Compared to 2022, Coen’s offense finished the 2023 season ranked No. 40 in

yards per play, No. 51 in points per drive, and No. 23 in red zone touchdown percentage

Following their 11-2 record, the Buckeyes are seeking offensive transformation. Through the transfer portal, Ohio State

recently added quarterback Will Howard from Kansas State and running back Quinshon Judkins from Ole Miss. In an effort to win a conference title, the

Buckeyes will also welcome back Donovan Jackson, TreVeyon Henderson, and Emeka Egbuka.

Coen could end up sticking around in Kentucky or potentially depart for the NFL. He also could end up in Columbus.

Day’s offensive criteria may have an impact on Coen’s availability for the 2024 campaign.
