What a great loss in Georgia Football as Caleb Downs Picks ...

This week has been the worst for Georgia Football in program history. Wait, what? My bad, that is Alabama. By now, you are undoubtedly familiar with the story:

Caleb Downs made the last-minute decision to transfer to Ohio State rather than Georgia. It was assumed by all those

involved in the prediction industry that Downs would undoubtedly end up at Georgia.

It is disappointing from a Georgian standpoint, but it is in no way harmful.

Although Downs would have been a fantastic addition to the Dawgs, Athens’ safety position does not urgently require

more talent or depth. For the Dawgs, safety is one of the more talented positions. They are still 4 and 5 stars

even though the majority of their talent is untapped. Kirby Smart is probably not having any sleepless nights over it.

The Ohio State offseason is off to a terrific start. Because of the roster upgrades and coaching appointments, Ohio State is widely regarded as the

favorite to win the national championship in the media. Vegas, though, continues to think the Dawgs are

the favorites. I realize this is biassed, but the Dawgs are still the best team in the nation.

Fans of Alabama are ecstatic that Downs decided against joining the Dawgs. That tells you where the Alabama program is

at the moment. They took to social media and mocked the Georgia program and

Georgia fans. It also reveals the Alabama fans’ IQ. Fans of Alabama are making fun of Georgia for not acquiring one of their

top players from the previous campaign. However, I suppose any win would be cause for celebration if you were having

the kind of week Alabama is. I am beginning to feel sorry for the fans of Alabama.

I don’t blame Downs for attending the Buckeyes if the rumors circulating on

social media are accurate. Some claim that by enrolling at Ohio State, Downs

made a sizable financial gain. I wish Downs the best of luck, though I’m not sure if those rumors are true. If that’s the

case, I have no reason to blame him. According to some rumors, Downs was spotted in Athens, and in order for

Georgia to grant him eligibility to play for the Dawgs and enroll at UGA, a lot of red tape had to be removed.

If that’s true to 100% accuracy, I’d really like to know what went wrong. We’ll find out about this bizarre Downs recruitment eventually.

If you’re among the Dawg supporters concerned about this circumstance, have

no fear. Kirby Smart assembled the best transfer portal class ever through Athens and the #1 recruiting class. Georgia

remains the favorite to win the national championship in 2024 despite being one of the most talented teams in the nation.
